Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of our civil engineering construction company.
- The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, fostering client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of projects while upholding the company’s values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all business units and departments.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes, optimize resource utilization, and enhance productivity.
- Identify opportunities to add value to client projects and exceed expectations through innovative solutions and proactive communication.
- Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders to support decision- making and strategic planning.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and a commitment to safety and ethical business practices.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to allocate resources effectively, mitigate risks, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to achieve profitability targets and maximize project margins.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring prompt resolution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in senior management roles within the civil engineering construction industry, with at least 10 years of experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
- Proficiency in project management software, financial management tools, and other relevant technology platforms.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Professional certifications or licenses may be preferred (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering construction processes, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.
