Job Description
- Good Neighbours Microfinance Bank is seeking an experienced Head of Financeto join our team in Ikeja.
- As the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role byshaping the financial stability of the organization,overseeing and managing the financial control function,treasury management, accounting, budgeting, performance analysis, and financial reporting functions.
- The successful individual will proactively identify issues, opportunities, and solutions to ensure effective budgeting, assist in strategic planning and forecasting, and sustainability while ensuring the accurate capture and timely reporting of all financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for budget development, planning & reporting, andliquidity management.
- Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization in alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Develop financial policies and procedures for operational efficiency.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and provide insightful recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial statements for future reference.
- Monitor and manage expenses within the established budget.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Preparation and submission of CBN and NDIC monthly rendition Returns
- Remittance of statutory deductions on monthly basis, such as PAYE, WHT, VAT etc.
- Possess and apply advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Preparation and presentation of the Monthly Performance Review (MPR) report and chief driver of the meeting.
- Communicate financial performance and forecasts; assist in the preparation and review of all monthly and quarterly reports for Board, Shareholders, Regulatory bodies,etc.
- Preparation of the overall annual budget of the bank, including the assumptions and the ratios.
- Work with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Review and approve all reconciliation and schedules, such as bank statements, schedule of accrued charges etc.
- Recommend cost-reducing solutions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of financial and control experience, with at least 3 years in a senior managementposition.
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage
- Demonstrates excellent understanding of financials as well as advanced business finance and performance analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint,and MS Word.
- Good knowledge of IFRS
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
- Strong knowledge of microfinance industry regulations and financial reporting standards, with experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Salary
N300,000 – N500,000 monthly.
