Job Description
- We are currently recruiting a Chief Of Staff + Business Development Executive to work directly with our Founder on a variety of projects, incorporating operations, strategy and user acquisition to drive our expansion forward.
- This role will be critical to the success of Kinky Apothecary and you will be at the heart of the engine.
- The role is ideal for someone who wants a challenge, to get their hands dirty building and scaling a start-up and who can always keep their eye on the end goal with the bigger picture in mind.
- This role will be incredibly varied and give great exposure to both early-stage start-up and operational experience.
The job involves (but is not limited to):
- Acting as a generalist supporting our Founder with day-to-day operations and leading own projects from business development, operations, product, marketing, partnerships, etc, including the design and constant optimisation of internal structures and processes
- Supporting with the organisational structure, identifying gaps and leading strategic hiring to fill those gaps
- Hiring and collaborating with different teams to identify, review and solve problems, and working on multiple projects in parallel that will require you to be adaptable across multiple functions (including overseeing client onboarding, customer care, logistics and accounts)
- Taking responsibility for strategic initiatives including identifying, analysing and recommending strategic opportunities (business models, market/competitor analysis, potential acquisitions and the expansion of both our store footprint and private label line)
- Researching and making suggestions to support decision making
- Working collaboratively with our Founder to define the next level of detail and execute on our strategic roadmap
- Managing high priority projects on behalf of the Founder to support growth and solve problems
- Digging into areas for improvement, using data-driven analysis as needed, then designing solutions

Requirements
We are looking for someone with the following non-negotiable skills:
- 3-6 years high-quality operational experience, ideally in a high-growth start- up or scale-up, consulting firm, investment bank or tech company
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure when needed, as well as to work on multiple projects in parallel. You are excited by (and excel in) a rapidly-changing – and sometimes uncomfortable – environment
- Clear, concise communication style and ability to reason in a pragmatic way
- Execution-orientated with a real sense of urgency
- A natural project manager with the ability to drive the future of the company with a growth mindset and creative pragmatism
- A strong relevant, personal interest in the Hair, Beauty and/or Fashion space is a plus.
- Highly strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse data, gain insight and create commercial suggestions
- Curiosity and passion for problem-solving, with a strong appetite for growth and a can-do attitude
- Collaborative working style with strong people-skills and experience working in teams under pressure
Salary Range
N400,000 – N500,000 / month.
