Job Title: Construction Site Planner

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Type: Full-time

Project: PHRC Area 5

Job summary/Role description

  • To execute all planning and reporting activities within a project (or part thereof) of any size and complexity under the supervision of the Project Control Manager.
  • This role aligns with the project’s contractual obligations, the company’s quality standards, and the Project Execution Plan, including the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and schedules.
  • The Site Planner is accountable for the accurate implementation and updating of the project schedule for the assigned area based on provided directives and requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare all field project planning activities in accordance with company procedures, guided by the Project Control Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with construction team to develop Level 3 and 4 schedules and manpower histograms, ensuring compliance with project milestones, critical interfaces, and control procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a logical sequence of job activities, ensuring tasks are scheduled to optimize resource allocation and minimize delays, including identifying critical path activities and their dependencies.
  • Prepare Daily, Weekly and Monthly Report and publication to all the stakeholders.
  • Assess the feasibility of construction schedules based on the timely delivery of documentation, materials, and updated information from the Home Office.
  • Continuously monitor subcontractor performance regarding efficiency, progress, and resource allocation, highlight to Project Control Manager in case of schedule variance.

Management Information System (MIS) Reporting:

  • Prepare and distribute MIS reports at all levels, providing stakeholders with timely and accurate information on project status, performance metrics, and deviations from the planned schedule.
  • Utilize MIS tools to compile and analyse data, presenting findings clearly to support informed decision-making by project management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that MIS reports reflect the current state of project schedules, resource allocation, and progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to the Project Control Manager regarding any issues or deviations from standard methods, work instructions, and tools to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Stay updated on technical improvements within the discipline.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in necessary tools and software, including Primavera P6 and MS Excel.
