Job Summary
- Volition Cap seeks an Investment Analyst (IA). The Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in researching & analysing investment assets, then place and monitor those investments.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent financial modelling aptitude, driven negotiation skills, and a deep appreciation for documentation.
- They will also keep up with key shifts in policy by regulatory bodies.
Roles & Responsibilities
Market Research & Investment Analysis:
- Stay abreast of economic indicators, market trends, and regulatory developments.
- Research and analyse investment opportunities.
- Make recommendations to the Investment Committee on appropriate investments.
Investment Due Diligence:
- Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, in conjunction with our lawyers and consultants.
- Evaluate due diligence reports and make recommendations based on risk-return profiles.
Investment Placement & Monitoring:
- Take instructions from the Investment Committee to place investments with relevant counterparties.
- Monitor all assets and liquidate when due.
- Provide timely reports on investment performance
- Manage counterparty relationships and online account
Financial Modeling:
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess investment opportunities and risks.
- Evaluate financial statements, cash flow, and other relevant financial metrics.
Skills Set and Values:
- Entrepreneurial spirit, drive and follow-through.
- Deep knowledge of markets and finance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- An analytical mind comfortable with numbers.
- Ability to ask probing questions, negotiate favourable terms and foster consensus.
Experience and Qualifications
- A Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics or any relevant field.
- Solid knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- 3 – 4 years work experience in a similar role.
- Strong investment analysis background.
