Job Title: Business Development Executive (Entry Level)

Location: Lagos

Reports to: Business Development Lead

Job Scope

  • The Business Development Executive is responsible for supporting the business development team in identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
  • This role is ideal for candidates with 1-2 years of experience, especially from a banking or financial services background, who are eager to expand their careers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and potential clients to drive revenue growth.
  • Conduct market research to analyze industry trends and identify potential target markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Attend client meetings and follow up on client inquiries to foster positive relationships.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales pitches to prospective clients.
  • Provide regular reports on market trends and business opportunities to the team.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and contract details.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on business development activities and results to the Business Development Lead.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote the brand and generate leads.
  • Organize and coordinate promotional events and activities.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance business development skills.
  • Keep abreast of industry knowledge, sales techniques, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to tailor offerings to meet client needs.
  • Coordinate sales activities, including scheduling meetings and preparing sales materials.
  • Track sales leads and update the CRM system with relevant client information.
  • Gather necessary documents and liaise with internal stakeholders during contract negotiations.
  • Ensure all agreements align with company policies and objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, competitor activities, and market changes to provide insights that support business strategy.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Business Development Lead to support team objectives.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or customer relationship roles, preferably within the banking, insurance or financial services sector.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.

Desired Skills:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Basic understanding of sales and marketing principles.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

  • N100,000 – N150,000 / Month.
  • HMO, Pension, and other benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
