The Local Coalition Accelerator (LCA) is a global platform that aims to transform international aid delivery. It connects bilateral and multilateral donors, philanthropic organizations, and local actors. This collaboration aims to fundamentally change how assistance is designed and implemented. The LCA leverages existing localization efforts, partnering with and amplifying them. It supports coalitions of local actors who can co-design and deliver evidence-based programs at scale. These programs address complex, multi-sectoral problems. In parallel, the LCA works with donors to shift their processes to provide more power and funding directly to local actors. The LCA model emphasizes self-help and collective action, placing community-driven collaboration at its core, proven to deliver impactful results.
The Nigeria Local Coalition Accelerator (N-LCA) is a coalition of nine (9) CSOs working to improve the lives of individuals and communities in Adamawa state, Nigeria. It is an initiative funded by Vito Foundation, launched by Share Trust, supported by Warande Advisory Center support local and national NGOs to combine forces to achieve scale and international direct funding. The N-LCA tackles various challenges in Adamawa, focusing on crisis response, long-term sustainability, and localization efforts.

Job Title: Coordinator for Nigeria Local Coalition Accelerator (N-LCA)

Job Summary
- We are seeking to engage a Coordinator to lead the N-LCA Secretariat.
- The Coordinator will play a key role in facilitating collaboration among member organizations and ensuring that underserved communities are meaningfully engaged in decision-making processes related to aid delivery
Responsibilities
- The Coalition Coordinator will oversee the daily administration of the N-LCA, ensuring that program goals, objectives, and activities are effectively achieved and documented.
- The Coordinator will work closely with the Implementation Team (IT), Steering Committee (ST), and General Assembly (GA) to enhance participation and drive accomplishments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support and Coordination: Assist the Steering Committee in providing strategic leadership and support for the Coalition’s activities. Act as the main point of contact for coordinating meetings and coalition activities.
- Budget and Planning: Present an annual budget for approval by the Steering Committee and collaborate with the Implementation Team to develop annual work plans and programs, ensuring alignment with the Coalition’s strategic priorities.
- Logistics: Provide logistical support for training sessions, surveys, and meetings related to coalition strategies.
- Meetings and Duties: Attend necessary meetings and perform other duties required to maintain and advance the Coalition’s success.
- Implementation: Oversee the execution of the Joint Action Plan (JAP) in alignment with the Coalition’s policies and procedures.
- Secretarial Duties: Provide support to the Implementation Team and serve as the secretary for various layers of the Coalition.
- Activity Management: Prepare, coordinate, and follow up on all Coalition activities and meetings. Ensure that all necessary documents and materials are prepared and distributed in a timely manner.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Humanities or any relevant field and at least 7 years of experience working in an NGO, community-based agency, or similar organization.
- Masters degree degree in Social Science, Humanities or any relevant field and at least 5 years of experience working in an NGO, community-based agency, or similar organization.
- Supervisory Relationship: Reports to the Chairperson of the Steering Committee.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Exceptional organizational and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with websites, social media, and communication tools.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Personal Qualities:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Social Media & Communication:
- Maintain a robust social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Mail chimp.
Training & Travel:
- Possible travel for training and program development.
Hours/Days per Week:
- Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required.
