Job Title: General Manager, Marketing

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • As our General Manager, Marketing, you will be the architect of our brand narrative and growth engine. You will lead a high-performing marketing team, developing and executing data-driven marketing campaigns across all channels, managing our brand presence, and driving customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marketing within the FinTech or related sectors, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering impactful marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a robust marketing strategy that supports the company’s growth objectives and enhances brand awareness.
  • Oversee market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and customer insights.
  • Lead the development and execution of go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new products and features.
  • Foster a data-driven marketing culture, leveraging analytics to measure campaign performance and identify areas for improvement.

Brand Management:

  • Manage and evolve the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Lead the development of compelling brand stories and creative marketing campaigns.

Public Relations and Communications:

  • Develop and manage public relations strategies to enhance the company’s reputation and visibility.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing it at industry events and media engagements.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the marketing department.

Digital Marketing:

  • Drive the company’s digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Optimize online presence and engagement through data-driven strategies.

Customer Acquisition and Retention:

  • Develop and execute strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Collaborate with product and sales teams to enhance customer experience and loyalty.

Advertising and Promotions:

  • Plan and manage advertising campaigns across various media channels.
  • Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including brochures, videos, and online content.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the FinTech, financial services, or technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
