Job Title: Marine Procurement Officer

Job Overview
- The Marine Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement activities related to our maritime operations.
- This includes sourcing and purchasing marine equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the efficient operation of our fleet and marine projects.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the marine industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for marine equipment, supplies, and services.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly and professionally.
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement plans as necessary.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support marine operations without overstocking.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
- Manage logistics and transportation of marine supplies, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Track and report on procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the marine or oil & gas industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of marine equipment, supplies, and services.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Familiarity with international shipping and logistics.
