RainTree Farms Limited is a registered limited liability company setup to carry on and focus on AgriBusiness and allied services. We have our operational farms are located at Nkwebi Ohafia, in Ohafia LGA of Abia State (Crop Farms), and a pilot Piggery at Oke-Aro in Lagos. RainTree Farms Limited, has set up a an Oil Palm Plantation cultivated with fast maturing high yield seeds/ seedlings from France, Malaysia and NIFOR Nigeria. We also plant Cassava, Maize, Plantain / Banana and Egusi in our other cash crop farms. Some of these other annual crops are intercropped with the juvenile palms during the first 2 – 4 years of each plantation, before the palm frond canopy makes intercropping economically unviable.

Job Title: Palm and Kernel Oil Factory Manager

Job Summary

  • Raintree Farms Limited an operator of an Oil Palm Plantation in Isiama OhafiaAbia State seeks a Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil Mill Factory Manager to oversee facility operations and manage a team of production staff.
  • The successful candidate’s responsibilities include implementing policies and monitoring output to meet production goals on time and within budget.
  • This role also involves hiring and training new team members, performing maintenance on equipment as needed, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to maintain a productive work environment.

Factory Manager Responsibilities

  • The factory manager oversees the daily operations of the oil mill and facility.
  • He/She will manage production staff, implement production processes, and develop operating budgets.

Their responsibilities will include the following:

Production Planning and Management:

  • Formulate and implement production plans to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • efficiently schedule milling and processing activities, oversee shift work and manage handovers.
  • Oversee inventory management systems, tracking levels of raw materials such as oil palm fruit bunches and other supplies, while ensuring accurate monitoring of stock levels and sustainable waste management.
  • Work with the company Farm Manager to ensure optimized delivery of Oil Palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from company-owned plantations
  • Source for Oil Palm bunches (FFB) and palm kernels to ensure production targets are met
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to achieve cost-effective production
  • Allocate resources, such as equipment and personnel, to maintain production standards
  • Estimate manufacturing costs and identify ways to reduce them
  • Monitor production output and adjust processes as necessary to meet deadlines:

Quality and Standards Compliance:

  • Work with executives to design, uphold rigorous standards, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of quality control measures in collaboration with the laboratory for quality assurance and the monitoring of production process efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during the milling process and address quality issues through root cause analysis as needed.

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Identify equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements and ensure immediate rectification.
  • Proactively carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, breakdowns, and repairs.
  • Production Reporting:
  • Maintain and compile accurate production records, including CPO and PKO yields, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Hire, train, and supervise production staff, such as machine and equipment operators
  • Cultivate a continuous improvement and skill development culture, providing training and mentorship to mill operators and workers.
  • Evaluate employees’ performance and coach production teams
  • Provide training and resources to ensure production teams understand safety protocols
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments such as Plantation / Farm Operations.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance to management, with a deep understanding of performance parameters and indicators.
  • Leadership and Teamwork:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill any other responsibilities assigned from time to time by the Management.

Factory Manager Requirements

The factory Manager needs to meet the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering/Technology, or any relevant field, along with equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of hands-on experience in a factory, preferably oil palm milling operations, including a proven track record in supervisory roles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, varying temperatures, and challenging weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft software, production management software, and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of oil palm milling processes, equipment, and maintenance.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in the palm oil industry.

Benefits

  • Salary: N100,000 – N150,000 per month.
