Job Description
- The R&D Officer will be responsible for developing new food products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- The ideal candidate must have a strong background in research and development within the food processing industry, with expertise in product formulation, food safety, and process optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities
He/She will:
- Develop and test new food products that align with AACE Foods’ quality standards and customer preferences.
- Improve existing formulations to enhance taste, nutrition, shelf life, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct research on raw materials, ingredients, and food trends to support innovation.
- Work closely with the quality assurance and production teams to ensure seamless product scale-up.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and technological advancements in food processing.
- Support troubleshooting of production issues related to formulations and ingredient interactions.
- Work with suppliers to source ingredients and packaging materials.
- Present new product ideas to company executives and clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, test results, and research findings.
- Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and other regulatory standards in food safety and quality.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source high-quality raw materials.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and customer trials to refine product development.
Education & Experience
- First Degree in Food Science and Technology or related fields. Relevant certifications will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, quality standards, and lab testing methods.
- Hands-on experience with sensory evaluation, shelf-life studies, and process improvement.
- 3-5 years of experience in R&D within the food processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food formulation, ingredient functionality, and product development processes.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to analyze and interpret research data for practical application.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
