We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Associate

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Employment Type: Full-time

Duties

  • Provide technical support on implementation of BioSSA research activities in Nigeria,
  • Assist in the coordination of BioSSA project activities with all units (implementing the project activities) and assist with direct supervision of all NRS-and junior staff,
  • Document BioSSA products for trial implementation (list of products and corresponding partners), establish and provide import permits to BioSSA partners in collaboration with NARS and regulatory bodies,
  • Assist and work with BioSSA Team in activities implementation (field identification, seed sourcing, trials setting and trials implementation, data collection, data analysis and in drafting trial reports).
  • Provide regular updates on progress with BioSSA activities in Nigeria,
  • Analyze and write up research results, and work with project Team to publish in various formats (reports, blogs, journal publications etc.),
  • Take responsibility for assuring the correctness of ODKs and barcoding.
  • Assist in providing step by step QA/QC checks,
  • Assist with BioSSA Team and partners in providing the draft research protocols to address activities implementation (Protocols, dummy videos, etc.).
  • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Agronomy or any other related field with a minimum of four (4) years experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

Competencies:

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have excellent writing and oral communication skills in English for efficient communication and reporting.
  • Have a positive attitude, strong team spirit and the ability to work well in a diverse team.
  • Be experience in trials reporting.
  • Be experience with digital data collection, biometrics and reporting.
  • Be proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic exposure to data curation techniques.
  • Be well organized, able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines with keen attention to detail.
