Primarily set up as a consulting Civil Engineering firm, the company served both the private and public sectors for a decade, before entering into the Oil and Gas industry in the turn of the decade (1990).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (CISCO ISE)

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities:

Network Designs Implementation:

  • Design, configure, and deploy secure network solutions using Cisco ISE and Palo Alto firewalls to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Architect and implement advanced enterprise/campus network infrastructure.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of network systems – LAN/WAN, Firewalls, and wireless access points.

Cisco ISE Management:

  • Deploy and manage Cisco ISE for network access control, ensuring secure access to network resources.
  • Develop and maintain ISE policies for wired, wireless, and VPN environments.
  • Integrate ISE with existing network infrastructure and troubleshoot any issues related to Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) and BYOD.

Firewall Support:

  • Support, configure, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls, ensuring optimal configuration, performance, and security.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and change management logs.
  • Provide regular reports on network performance, security status, and project progress to organizational leadership.

Continuous Improvements & Research:

  • Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies, trends, and security threats.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the network infrastructure to enhance security, performance, and scalability.
  • Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery initiatives to ensure network resilience.

Network Monitoring & Traffic Analytics:

  • Monitor network performance and security using tools such as SolarWinds, Riverbed, PRTG, etc.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and providing timely resolution.
  • Respond to network incidents and security breaches, ensuring minimal impact on operations.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce network security policies, ensuring compliance with company industry standards.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans, remediating identified risks.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to maintain a secure and compliant network environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-year University degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, or Electrical/Electronics/Communications Engineering, with 10 years of experience in Backend IT Infrastructure provision and support, of which at least 5 years must have been in IT Infrastructure service delivery and support for Data communications networks in (Mainstream) Oil and Gas industry.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in network engineering, with a focus on network security and architecture.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEH Master, Palo Alto professional level, CCNP Security/Enterprise, or industry equivalents are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Broad multifaceted stakeholder management capability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of HSSE in IT operations in oil and gas.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including advanced threat prevention features.
  • Proficiency with Cisco routing and switching technologies, including experience with Nexus switches, with a solid understanding of network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with wireless networking, including Cisco and Aruba Wireless solutions.
  • Familiarity with other security technologies such as VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
  • The following qualifications will be an advantage:

    • Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., Azure) and SD-WAN technologies.
    • Familiarity with other network security platforms, such as Fortinet, CheckPoint.
