The Clean Borehole Water Sellers Association (CBWSA) of Lagos is an esteemed organization representing a coalition of water vendors within the state. Our mission is to champion access to clean water, advocate for sanitation practices, and raise awareness about hygiene, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation, for the benefit of the people of Lagos state.
With a membership exceeding 10,000 individuals, our association comprises a diverse demographic, with 50% women, 30% men, 18% older adults, and 2% people with disabilities. These members are distributed across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state, each afforded equal opportunities for participation and empowerment, ensuring inclusivity across all segments of society. Additionally, our association prides itself on reflecting Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, with significant representation from the three major ethnic groups – Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa – as well as other minority ethnic groups, harmoniously spread throughout Lagos state.

Job Title: Team Lead

Job Description
- The Team Lead will oversee all activities related to the streamlining water vendor activities and capacity building, mapping, and survey of borehole water sellers in Lagos State.
- This role involves coordinating the efforts of project teams, managing resources, and ensuring the successful implementation of project activities.
- The Team Lead will provide leadership, guidance, and support to project staff and stakeholders to achieve project objectives in a timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all project activities related to mapping and surveying borehole water sellers.
- Coordinate the efforts of project teams, including supervisors, enumerators, ICT experts, GIS experts, and LUWASH technical staff, to ensure seamless execution of project tasks.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for project activities and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate project collaboration and cooperation.
- Represent the project at meetings, workshops, and events to promote project objectives and outcomes.
- Foster positive relationships with project partners and stakeholders to enhance project effectiveness and sustainability.
Resource Management:
- Manage project resources, including human resources, finances, equipment, and materials, to optimize project performance and efficiency.
- Supervise and support project staff, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring as needed to ensure high-quality performance and productivity.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of project teams and individual team members, providing feedback and addressing performance issues as necessary.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and challenges to project implementation and develop strategies to mitigate risks and overcome obstacles.
- Monitor external factors, such as regulatory changes, market dynamics, and community dynamics, that may impact project success.
- Proactively address issues and challenges as they arise to maintain project momentum and achieve desired outcomes.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, including mapping and survey reports, electronic databases, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold standards of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of project progress and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
Expected Results
Successful Project Implementation:
- Ensure the successful completion of all project activities according to established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Achieve project objectives and deliverables, including the mapping and survey of borehole water sellers, creation of electronic databases, and engagement with regulatory agencies.
Timely Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, updates, and documentation on project activities, achievements, and challenges.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of project expenditures, resources, and outcomes for reporting and accountability purposes.
Effective Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders, promoting collaboration, communication, and partnership.
- Facilitate stakeholder participation and buy-in to support project goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Business Administration, or Development Studies. Masters degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the water sector or community development projects.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Sound knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem-solve in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders and building consensus.
Salary
N400,000 – N450,000 / month.
