UPDATED: Obi surpasses Tinubu in Lagos

Mr. Tinubu, a former governor of the state, has won more local government districts, although he is only narrowly ahead of Mr. Obi.

Although former state governor Mr. Tinubu has won more local government areas, he is only ahead of Mr. Obi by a small margin of 1,686 votes.

Mr. Obi is leading the vote count by a slim margin with 448,878 votes while Mr. Tinubu is leading in only seven local government areas. Mr. Tinubu has won in 10 local government areas and has received 447,192 votes overall.

The Lagos State Collation Center is where PREMIUM TIMES is covering the presidential election.

The publication had stated that Mr. Tinubu had just barely edged out the competition after the results from 12 local government areas had been announced.

But once more local government areas had their results announced, Mr. Obi caught up to him and then passed him.

On the other side, Mr. Obi won the wards of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, and Somolu.

Mushin, Ojo, and Alimosho are the final three local government areas where results are anticipated.

NOTE FROM THE EDITORS: This story has been revised following the discovery of a mistake in the vote total we previously released. We regret the mistake.
