Job Description
- At McPeniel Consultancy, the responsibility of a Research Assistant is to research and develop content in response to tasks assigned
- Conduct literature reviews, prepare interviews or questionnaires, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from the business management and social sciences.
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Social Sciences, Economics, Demography, Statistics or a related discipline is typically required. A master’s degree is an added advantage
- Must have 1-3 years experience.
- Research Experience: Previous experience in research or a related field is advantageous. This could include academic research or research assistant roles.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to generate research questions and hypotheses.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and manage research materials, data, and documentation effectively.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing research needs and priorities.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in qualitative data analysis methods, including coding, categorization, and thematic analysis; and/or quantitative data analysis software (such as SPSS or Excel) is required.
- Writing Skills: Strong analytical writing skills, including the ability to draft reports, literature reviews, and other research documents, are essential.
Skills:
- Research Skills: Strong research skills are essential, including the ability to gather relevant information from various sources, critically analyze data, and synthesize findings into coherent content.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data is crucial for evaluating research outcomes and drawing meaningful conclusions.
- Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to gather information, share findings, and discuss research approaches is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with coding and categorization for qualitative data analysis, thematic analysis, transcription tools, data visualization, text analysis techniques, and interpretation/reporting of qualitative findings and/or familiarity with quantitative data analysis software (such as SPSS or Excel), is required.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing clear and concise reports, literature reviews, and other research-related documents.
- Critical Thinking: The ability to think critically and approach problems from different angles is essential for formulating research questions and identifying relevant insights.
- Attention to Detail: Precise attention to detail is vital when conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and content creation to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills are necessary to balance multiple research tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a timely manner.
Salary
N70,000 – N75,000 / Month.
